The Indian River Neighborhood Association is pleased to announce they are a sponsor of the Pelican Island Audubon Society's conference "Transforming Landscapes for a Sustainable Future” to be held on January 19 and 20, 2018 at the Emerson Center in Vero Beach located at 1590 27th Ave.
IRNA has long supported efforts to help the Indian River Lagoon. The Conference is an excellent example of a dedicated effort to help this valuable waterbody which has had a huge historic presence throughout our County. Restoring its health is not only for our mutual benefit, it is also for the benefit of future generations.
We recognize our many communities need accurate information on the problems affecting the health of our Lagoon. There are many contributing factors and they all have an impact on our quality of life. To this end, we strive to bring information to everyone in a clear understandable format and we support efforts to enhance this understanding. And our local Audubon Society is working towards that end.

It is an impressive line-up of experts which include Dr. Douglas Tallamy, Dr. Edie Widder, Steve Turnipseed, and Dr. Juanita Baker among others. They will be speaking to audiences addressing local problems and local actions which can be undertaken. Simply changing how we manage and maintain our private property will go a long way to restore the health of the lagoon.

Importantly, no single organization can save our lagoon. It is only by working together that we will achieve results and that is why you are receiving this email.
We encourage you to take advantage of what promises to be a very valuable educational experience. Plan to attend and bring your family, friends, and neighbors.
