Groundwater Research from Brevard County

Writer's picture: IRNAIRNA

Brevard County passed a 1/2 cent sales tax after the massive fish kill with the help of the Brevard Indian River Lagoon Coaltion.  Part of the funding goes to research/monitoring so that they can determine project effectiveness. One important research/monitoring project that they are undertaking is a ground water monitoring study.  At various locations around the county, the study measures the impact of septic to sewer conversion.  Another study compares the groundwater in three geographically similar neighborhoods under three conditions:   septic, sewer, and irrigated with reuse water.
